Create some beautiful and totally unique yarn to incorporate into your projects. The relaxing art of spinning raw fleece is explored in this workshop. Learn about the history of the craft locally in the Mourne area and further afield. While away a few hours as you discover the joy and satisfaction of taking alpaca or sheep’s fleece from its raw state, through each process to create the finished yarn. Learn how to:
- Process a raw fleece
- Use hand carders to make rolags
- Have a go with traditional drop spindles
- Use a treadle spinning wheel
- Ply yarn using a wheel or spindle
